What is a flat rack container?
Flat rack containers are especially suitable for heavy loads and cargo that needs loading from the top or sides, such as pipes and machinery. You will find collapsible containers and non-collapsible containers with or without walls. Flat rack containers are manufactured from steel and come in 20′ and 40′ sizes.
Flat racks are ideal for shipping oversized items and are designed for cost-effective transport:

A number of lashing rings, to which the cargo may be secured, are installed in the side rails, the corner posts, and the floor. The lashing rings may take loads of up to 2000 kg in the case of 20′ flat racks or up to 4000 kg in the case of 40′ flatracks.
Some types of 20′ flatracks have forklift pockets.
40′ flatracks have gooseneck tunnels at each end. In addition, they are sometimes equipped with lashing winches with 2 metric ton lashing belts.
For transport of certain cargoes, flatracks may be provided with stanchions.
Flat racks are available in a number of configurations, including:
- Flat fixed end – provides additional load security for items such as pipes.
- Flat collapsible – designed to provide the same as above – the ends can be collapsed to allow easy stacking for transport of multiple empty units saving in transport costs.
- Flush folding flat – incorporate the advantages of both 1 & 2 – the end walls collapse into the frame allowing for large machinery and other bulky material to be loaded directly over the collapsed ends – designed for over-dimensional loads.

NEW “One Trip” containers are shipped from Asia with a single container cargo load. These containers are referred to as “new” or in “like new” condition. One-trip containers are ideal if appearance and longevity are top priorities.
USED cargo-worthy containers are certified for global transport based on the condition of the doors, floor, walls, and ceiling. Dents, rust, and corroded paint may be present. The unit is leakproof.
Using Your Container For Export? You’ll Need a CSC Survey.
For customers who plan to export their container, please make sure to purchase a CWO (cargo worthy) or One Trip container as well as a CSC Survey. Please note that we cannot move loaded containers, and strongly recommend customers that who are exporting their containers work with their shipping company to pick up the container after the survey is complete.
Long Beach Off-Coast Port warranty.
Each storage container is durable, secure, and weatherproof. The Warranty Coverage Period for New ISO shipping containers is ten years from the date of purchase from Long Beach Off-Coast Port. The Warranty Coverage Period for Used Cargo Worthy ISO shipping containers is five years from the date of purchase from Long Beach Off-Coast Port. A leak-proof unit guarantee is included.
During the warranty period, Long Beach Off-Coast Port will repair, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or replace units or parts of a container at no charge. The container must prove defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.

The Trucks are Big, and We Need Space to Deliver
Our haulers need 80′ of additional space in order to deliver a 40′ shipping container (120′ of total space), plus room for the truck to maneuver. Please make sure you’ve got space for delivery. 20′ shipping containers are delivered on a different size truck, and so we only need an additional 55′ of space (75′ of total space) to deliver 20′ containers.
